RSPVH Orientation 2015

A few months back we had our WSC RSPVH Volunteer Orientation day :) It was a day of fun and games, with us welcoming our new volunteers into our RSPVH family.

We had a great time enjoying ourselves and interacting with fellow volunteers. In addition to fun and games, we also had the RSPVH trademark activity: dining in the dark.

Through this activity, we were granted the opportunity to experience the life of the visually handicapped, with us having to feel our way through the dark.

It was an such an enLIGHTening experience (pun intended).

Some interesting comments we noticed in that period of time:

"That's MY drink, yours is over there"
"I don't even know how much chilli i'm putting on my pizza. It's going to be SO SPICY later"
"Hey, who's behind me?" 'It's a ghost." "WHAT?!?!"

We are fortunate enough to be able to see clearly around us. Yet can you imagine for many of our beeficiaries, such inability to see has already become a way of life.

As we enjoy this day of fun, let us always remember to be grateful for what we have, seeking to improve the lives of people less fortunate than us.
